People, melted plastic is not good on skin.
My friend got a front lip for his Integra so we painted it, then got pizza, then went back to his house to cut the bumper for it and put it on. Another friend was there so we were all having fun...he has a bit of a mosquito problem so I requested that the bug repellant candles be brought out. Well I was rather bored so I start burning sticks just for the hell of it. No problem. The other friend starts doing it too, then the guy actually working on the bumper gets done cutting the bottom of the bumper off. So we put it on the driveway and light it ablaze...wasn't doing much so the other friend got a can of de-icer or something and sprayed it. So it was burning better and we were "writing" on the driveway with the stuff and it would burn. Neato. So then for whatever reason the first friend pushes the bumper part onto the grass and goes back to work...the other friend sprayed it more and got it on fire more, big deal, the grass is wet. Then out of nowhere he grabs a gas can and pours some on the burning bumper part(yeah, and gas prices are how much?!) and it not only goes up more, a small patch of grass is on fire and the fire goes up the stream and nearly into the gas can. I run for cover, then see the friend blowing on it and he gets the fire to go out on the gas can, and quickly sets it down. So now we're just watching the fire. No problem. The first friend looks at it and freggin kicks part of the cut bumper towards me, and I feel pain on my left arm and right hand, I start saying "What the hell ahhhhhhh" and he does similar, I look down and see melted plastic stuck to my arm and hand. On the arm it actually burned a layer of skin clear off and didn't hurt terribly much...the one on the hand hit the heel of the hand. That one burned into the skin and as I look at it now is a blister. Hurt like all hell. I run in the house and put my hand under water...I couldn't believe how bad it hurt...it was actually making me feel sick it hurt so bad. The friend that kicked it had some land on his first finger, right between the nail and skin, so he was in pain, and it went all over his shirt.
So the moral of the story is that if you light a meltable material on fire, let it burn and don't freggin kick it as a joke because it's not too damn funny when you're holding your arm and hand bent over in devestating pain over something so damn stupid.
