Hell, the neon pink double windshield wipers, "splash" graphics, and fake cell-phone antennas in the 80s weren't all that different from "rice." Bad taste just has a new name, that's all.

I believe "Rice Boy" as we know it started in the early 90's in Southern California and the plague spread through out the nation over the 10 or so years. in 93 I was talking to my brother who lives in Laguna Niguel and he was going on about rice boythis and that. I went to visit him in dec of93 and saw first hand what he was talking about. about march of '94 I notice that the rice had worked it's way to florida nad was growing by the day. just my $.02
