How to best solve the problem of street racing

I sure would like to see this phenomon spread. Street racing in one city in Poland was turning into a big problem. How'd the cops solve it?
"They got together with the illegal racers and for one night only, every month, they cordon off part of the city then let drivers loose on the streets to go as fast as they like."

Wow, logic and smarts used by the powers that be. No more stupid Polish jokes, they're smarter than we are.

'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

nobody's going to take on the liability here. no matter what kind of waivers you had people sign or legislation is passed, one person paralyzed or killed and the mega lawsuits begin.

we have technology that could effectively detect every driving infraction, if we wanted that kind of draconian oversight.

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

it sucks when the closest track is 2+ hours away though... pretty sure thats why there's so much street racing in hartford CT. you've gotta drive 4-5 hours round trip for like a 3-4 hour street night event... where you'll get 3-4 runs if you're lucky.

My "local" track is 45 mins from the house. Not horribly far. However all the ricer kids drive around in their sohc accords and revv at anything that moves. They race grandma's trying to get over in a merge lane.

but dude, that solution is cheap, simple, and doesn't involve getting anybody fined/arrested/in trouble. there's no way the US would go for it.

the problem is then the police force is there and not keeping the thugs out of my house at night and drunk drivers off the street... its a great idea but they already do it and in a much more fun environment, THE TRACK... i can come home with a handful of professionally timed slips in my hand telling me exactly how fast i was, i can not only race others but i can race myself UNLIKE on the street... not to mention you think guys are going to be like "oh yeah you think your pos is faster than my car... put your money where your mouth is... see ya on the 20th biotch!" NO it is just a place where they can do it once a month and get away with it at the cost of donut shops shutting down because they are lacking police funding.

like i said in another post... the government cannot win... the street racers and car guys are saying FINALLY they are using common sence and the other people are saying "im paying you guys to go have fun and help children who cannot follow the law, break the law under your supervision for one night a month???"
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

i don't think they have many strips out in that area. hence why this is done.. prob wrong.. but an idea... don't nopi and groups like that do that kidna stuff here in the states anyway.. so we already have that kinda thing.

i am curious as to what happens when an accident occurs within the limits of these races though

People who race cars of any kind think motorcycle racers are absolutely off theirs meds. But there's one group that everyone agrees is made up of the most extreme, the most daring, and absolutely craziest people in racing - rally racers."
