hmm that is interesting considering we have a lot of canadians that come across to the hospitals here in the detroit metro area cause our care is better and shorter waits than they get over on their side, and drugs may be cheaper when you go to the counter ... but i'm guessing that is just cause someone else paid the rest in taxes

nah, wars arent the problem. people who think that this iraqi war is ths huge expense for our gov are just not bothering to look up the facts. medicare, social security, and welfare, all of those government handout programs are where over 60% of our tax dollars go.

in fact, wars stimulate the economy. wars mean a ramp up in production, it means the government is spending more money in the us, which means companies are making more and thus spending more, etc etc. i believe they call it "trickle down economics". in fact, it wasnt roosevelt's "new deal" that got the US out of the great depression, it was WWII.

i've heard this many times, but i don't believe it. i think the wars of past have been good for the economy because it demands innovation to defeat an equal opponent and to get a leg up. now we're fighting poor ghetto random civilians. WWII created the second industrial revolution. that is what got us out of the depression. Nothing good is going to come out of the war in iraq. i also don't believe the trickle down economics theory either. bottom line, people are greedy bastards, and the gap between normal people and the richest of the rich is only growing.

the reason why the war is screwing up our economy is because we're borrowing money from other countries to fund it. imagine if we instead invested all that money in our country instead of throwing it away. compare it to blowing 100 grand in vegas on your visa, or using it to invest in the stock market.

as far as the election go, the only candidate i actually liked was ron paul, but he's out, so now obama is my 2nd choice.

honestly, a huge portion of my decision is based souly on how intelligent, and logical a person is. right now it's kind of the lesser of the evils. issues aside, mccain comes off as an arrogant bigot, and hilary..... yea. obama just seems intelligent enough to not do anything really retarded, like going to war with iraq/vietnam.
