Someone stole all of my tools

I had them sitting in my craftsman tool box in my project car. The car was not locked because when I started stripping the car I left the d side window down and I have power windows.

The car was in the project lot inside the auto crafts center area. The parking lot is not accessable from the road, you have to go thru the auto crafts center to get to it.

I bet it was someone that saw me working on the car over the last month. All told I lost about 99% of my tools. All I have left is a 1/2" ratcket, 8lb sledge, and a 10piece 3/8 drive socket set. There was at least $1k worth of craftsman tools in that box.

MPs said they cant do much since I left the car unlocked. I tried to tell them the car is locked up in a secure parking lot but I guess they didnt understand. I have property insurance with USAA so I am going to call them now and I will check the pawn shops in Leesville tomarrow.

If I cant recover my tools I am seriously thinking about abandoning the whole project.

No tools means I cant work.

Block is almost done, cylinders are overboard for Weisco pistons, pro gram billet main caps have been line bored, and my chinese EDT rods have been machined to right specs. Everything has been balanced.

    Well,

Who would be interested in my parts? Wiesco pisons, etd rods, billet caps, white95 fuel rail, gasket set, etc etc etc.

I might just sell it all off then scrap the whole project. That would sucks so bad though.

Sorry to hear that, that really sucks. But, I hope you don't end up scrapping this project. I was really looking forward to your build.

That sucks! I'd buy the fuel rail
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

I say don't scrap the project...

You're going to need new tools anyway, unless you're planning to pay out the ass forever to have your car worked on at shops. Think of it as an unexpected chance to upgrade? Idk

Obviously I hope you get them back, but most of the tools that you'll need to do this project could be had for probably $200 or so. Heck, if you buy used craftsman/snapon stuff at yard sales or pawn shops it still carries the warranty....

Its $3 a day to keep the car in the lot which means about $75 a month.

I am paying off $5k in debt too.

It will cost me about $2k to get the body done but that wont be till the spring so that means 5 months at $75 a month.

The money sense just is not there to continue.

Whether the car was locked or not, that is theft. From Wikipedia:

"In criminal law, theft (also known as stealing or filching) is the illegal taking of another person's property without that person's freely-given consent."

Sounds like the MP's just don't want to fvck with it. Stealing a guy's tools is about as low as it gets. Some people use those things to make their living!
