WTRG is buying a house...

It seems in this epic market fail all you hear about is who is getting laid off or what company is liquidating their inventory. Well also this means that interest rates are at a record low and the foreclosures are at a record high. Banks are almost desperate to off load these houses.
For the past year I have been shopping for a house. I was not aggressive in my search because I knew I had the time to wait for a really good deal. As of Friday February 13th 2009 I will crossover from freeloader to homeowner. After living on my own for a few years renting here and there. I moved back with the family and have hated every moment of it. I made the best of it and sucked up the suckyness it was rent free and enabled me to save money for my down payment.

Yes its a foreclosure. Trust me I looked at a lot and none were this nice. Many needed a lot of work and a good sum of monies just make it livable.
The house value is 118k i'm buying it for 98 and the seller paying 5k in closing costs. Good deal is good

Im interested to see how this all plays out, I mean not you specifically nate, It's just EVERYONE is seeing house prices plumet and there are a handful of people I know that are talking to the bank right now. All that I can say is good luck to all but there has to be a reason all these smokin deals are still sitting on the market.

My parents have 2 neighbors that have moved out leaving their houses vacant and on the market. well one guy just evicted the tenants in the house and tried to sell as he got the house from his mom when she died like 2 years ago. She paid like 250 for the house and with a large downpayment only owed like 169 or something, the house had been completely redone by the previous owner inside AND out and he ended up giving it back to the bank. The other neighbor has like a 2k sq ft house, like 4bdrm 3 bath on about .20 acre that is comletely done inside and out and they are asking like 30k more than my wife and I paid for our 900sq ft ex rental property that needed tons of love inside and out.

btw nate I paid double what your paying for your house for a 1960's 3 tiny bedroom 1 bath ranch on about .25 acre in portland oregon so your making me cry right now!
