When is mazda bringing a car like this to North America?

I'm all for power and fun, but it would be nice to have a daily driver that I can get some insane fuel milage in would be nice also... i really am not a fan of volkswagen but: http://green.autoblog.com/2009/03/03...ncept-87-g-km/
wow... i found it on top gear originally at one point it was getting 78 miles per gallon on pump fuel
