Iphone or droid.

I currently have a samsung galaxy s and I am not happy how this thing is always randomly freezing, apps quit, restarts for no reason, non-responsive etc...

I have a coworker with the same phone who reports the same issues, and another with a galaxy s III and also reports random weirdness.

Is this a samsung issue or a droid issue? I originaly wanted an iphone but decided to get this since battery replacement was easy in this, but I am now regretting my decision about getting this thing.

My original **** touch works flawlessly and still does, so would it be safe to say the phone has the same solid stability?

I am looking for solid user opinions here and not saying one sucks just because you hate a certain brand or whatever.

non user replaceable battery isnt a huge deal, the battery should last a long time. and for a diy guy like yourself, youd be able to replace an iphone battery no problem. ive got the iphone 5 and i love it!

I've got a 4s, I've had it for almost 2 years. Battery lasts 2 days easy still, even with pandora on constantly. Very very rarely it glitches on something. Maybe once every three months.

I've got a Galaxy Note, I love it. There's been very few quirks, but it's mostly due to the availability of different software for these phones. Android is a huge step ahead of iPhone as far as capability. I have noticed recently, people are starting to come around, and a lot of my friends are buying Andriods, as they are sick of the constraints of the iPhone. My biggest issue with mine was the factory keyboard that came installed on the phone, that was an easy fix, as I just downloaded one of the many available. I hate the iPhone keyboard that you are stuck with. I'm fairly sure the iPhone will always be more stable, due to how constrained it is, but the iPhone to me is the definition of "consumer whore"; apple has not made a superior product, they've created a superior brand image, something I stay away from as well.

Edit: One major point against Android's image is the fact that there are **** phones running Android, and there are fantastic phones running Android. Someone has a problem in the office with a ****ty Android, he doesn't say his phone sucks, he says Android sucks. Also, you're running the original Galaxy S, a decent phone when it came out, but it is seriously outdated, and new apps are developed to work with more modern equipment.

I haven't seen an android device match the build quality of an iPhone, and I can't think of much that android can do but iPhone can't.

I have a Samsung epic 4g. It works great even with a cracked screen. I am not an apple fan myself. I like the open source stuff. Also I am running cayogen mod 9 on it probably runs better than the stock rom.

Do you want to be a leader or a sheep? It's your call. Check out a good Android device in a store, Bo, you will see build quality. There's so much an Android can do. (unofficial) Flash support, open source apps, drop and drag music, no stupid iTunes syncing. Download music and files right on your phone, edit absolutely anything you want. Android is built on Linux, which is ridiculously capable and stable. You could, if you wanted have your whole phone operate from a DOS type command prompt. They can do anything you can do on a computer. I can plug a USB stick into mine, loaded with music and movies, and copy it all to the phone, or watch it off the stick. It has support for uncompressed, standard video files, the list goes on, Bo. Open your eyes.

My eyes are open haha. I've been using iPhone since the day the first one came out. I've got a MacBook as my primary computer so I don't mind using iTunes. I don't watch movies or anything on my phone because I've got a laptop. I don't need to use dos or any other fancy hax0r type stuff. It does everything I need and does it pretty well.

i have an iphone 4s as my home phone, a 5 as my work phone and an android tablet. of the 3 my go to device is the 5 for ease of use and no-time-to-****-around-need-it-now stuff

I've got a netbook pro, an iMac, the 4s, ipad2, iPad mini, and an **** touch, and my gf has the iPhone 4. Of all those devices, exactly zero of them have broken, or had to have repairs of any sort. They all do what I need them to do, and do it with ease, every time. Sure, I paid a premium for the apple brand, but it fricken works. Well worth the price IMO.

Lol, thats what i wanted to avoid was hate because of a certain brand, but I should have known this topic would be like a political debate.

What about my coworker having issues with her galaxy 3? The phone is newer then mine so is it a samsung issue?

To help with this debate Darren, I guess I should state what kind of user I am for a phone. I have no use for 90% of the stuff on a smart phone and all its intricacies. I only use it as a phone, txt, get my emails, very little internet surfing, and occasionally play games or read a book on it to pass some time. Thats it. I had my I-pod jailbroken for a while, but even reverted it back to OE settings. I like to tinker with cars, not my phones. I just want something that works day in and day out.

I will tell you I have been an Apple fan since I was a kid and had an old LC II with a 12" color monitor. My Macs have always worked and so I stuck with them. A month ago i finally retired my Power mac G5 1.6 and bought a brand new mac mini, and the only reason I bought that was because I could no longer upgrade any of the software on it any more.

I decided to try the droid even though I wanted an apple phone but have been disappointed with it, but I am still trying to keep an open mind here and say maybe its just the hardware?? I wouldnt mind getting another droid IF it was as stable as the apple stuff I am used to.
