    Yeah, basically somebody said the oil pans are different, because the engine is mounted the other way, so oil pickup wouldn't work between the two.

      WHAT???? oil pick would be effected just because the motor is turned?? thats way beyond me on how that makes any sense

      the oil pick up tube just sucks the oil up how does vertical vs horizontal postioning have any effect?

        well, since the engine is mounted different, gravity pulls it differently. When in motion, it will move differently and stay more towards the rear and it will slosh differently. I have no idea if that would affect oil pickup or not, but it might determine the placement of the pickup.

        plus, it may have to do with cooling, fins facing forward, not sideways...
