1/64 1996 protege custom
Originally posted by Mazda96Protegehaha that is sick man, you should make a second gen now
btw in the "whats in your driveway" thread that pic you posted of your pro and your brothers 323F is awsome
As for the 1996 protege in 1/64 - it is not such an easy task. I ahve been trying to find a suitable 1/64 toy car that i could remodel into a BA protege, but none has shown up so far. I have been experimenting with a matchbox tyoyta supra, but it is way too wide for my goal to make the 323F / Lantis out of it. probably i´ll have to wait until i find a better base car. same goes for the 1996 protege. Next ones on my list are: MX-3, MX-6, 626 and Mazda3... but i need to find suitable beater toy cars.

The car was an import by some small company in the early 90-s. Ii think about 40 proteges and 323 hatchbacks found their way to Croatia, where i lived back then. I can still see a bunch of them on the streets when i am there. seems they ve been reliable.
And yes, i have the power sliding seat belts. the folks al look quite amazed when they see this little feature.not very usual in europe. We have two same genaration US-Ford escorts driving around with same belts, but basically they´re rare here.
I had to change the front lights to meet the regulations of euro-spec mazda 323.
