Ford and Mazda have been doin that for a while now.
Just look at their Ford Probe, mostly got MAzda parts.
Look at the ford Escape and the Mazda Tribute....same exact ****
just different badging.
Honda tried the same thing with Isuzu.
They had the Rodeo which was a Passport.
And they had the Oasis which was an Odyssey.Last edited by CB7Tuner.com; 06-09-2005, 11:33 PM.Frost White CB7 Crew #20

I'll do you one better for the ultimate sleeper in our family.
Mercury Tracer LTS, same drivetrain and chassis running gear as the EGT and Pro LX. Everyone thinks of the Tracers as total Grandma cars, which is what they were, how Mercury ever got any of them to pony up another three grand for the LTS is beyond belief. I have two of them, the one I'm keeping is 91 with 5sp pw/pl p/moon/sunroof, the one I'm selling is auto pw/pl. Nice little cars, wouldn't have it any other way.
Oh, and yes, this is why I come here, for the Mazda info.
LTS soon to be sleeper king in my neck of the woods.
Bill.

My first car was an escort with 1.9L of fury, only 88hp but 108 or so lb-ft of torque. Now I want an Escort wagon with an SPI swap for a daily driver.1992 Mazda Protege LX w/Primer spots

LTS 91-96.
You're right though, pretty rare, only about 1% of all Escort/Tracer production, but that 1% is of the best selling cars in the world for 4 of those years.
BTW, I already have a Tracer wagon that is getting the LTS/EGT treatment, BP, rear discs, etc, etc. And, the BPT is waiting to go in to the LTS.
