    my cars

Hey, you guys have some great looking cars. I bought my wife an '02 LX (gold one), the thing has been a good car so I bought another one ('03).
What CAI, Catback combo have any of you found to be most effective?

    Thanks,
    Mike

love that burgundy color. I like my Injen CAI and oem Mazdaspeed exhaust but I really can't say if it is the best combo because I have nothing to compare it to? Haven’t tried anything else. I can hear the intake whistle every so often and the 'speed exhaust drones a little at 80+ mph but that is what the radio is for. The exhaust is pretty quiet in the cabin while in normal driving mode but when you go wot it gets pretty loud. There are some threads out there that have the wav file from about any exhaust you can think of. Either here or protege5.com

nice, congrats, Welcome to the board. Cars both look great. Love the LX01 wheels!
AEM makes a nice intake for around $200, and you can do a nice MAZDASPEED/RACING BEAT Axle back, or may be able to get the entire Cat Back from EBAY, nice low tone, not loud at all. The MAzdaspeed Sport Axle back exhaust is louder. still nice, thats what i have on my 01 ES. All depends on how much you wanna spend...

          Nice cars

good lookin cars, man. ive heard good things from the injen intake. ive dealt with both the aem short ram and now i have the k&n typhoon cold air, and i love it. for the exhaust i say get something worth the money, and if you know a good muffler shop, and they can fabricate a custom cat/axle back exhaust then that'll do well, or spend the money and get one thats already made. its all up to you

Thanks for the advice, I used to drive 60's-70's V8 cars, so basically any Flowmaster and a good set of headers would improve power and sound. I'll look into the Injen intake, I used K&N products on a Mustang and they worked great. I was looking at the Racing Beat catback, and K&N CAI, should gain about 7-9hp? about 7% gain? Racing Beat has a dyno test on their website, anyone know which threads have WAV files for racing beat.

                Thanks,
                Mike

It is a dark burgundy / red, with a heavy metallic when the sun hits it. I think it is a cool color. It is called "Garnet Red Mica".
Thanks for your posts, someone asked me about the mess next door, we live in a new development and they are finishing the last houses at once so we have construction all over the place.
I also received a PM for interior pics, I'll post them soon.
