it's funny i think as well you should do a write up. it's like with erdt 3-4years ago when people started doing gtx swap and boosting their escorts. it was like swap fast and everyone wanted to do it...i think if there's a good writeup on what is needed in detail you will see alot more boosted awd escorts,pros and lx's afterall it's our rightful destiny to be awd( ford laser/323 gtx)

This isn't a bolt-in swap. I doubt it will ever be done again. I'd like to see it though.

yeah well the 1.8L swap into a 1.9L stock powered escort was not a bolt-in at one point but now like 6-8 guys have it done.

i've done tougher things my friend. i would probably end up doing it on the escort. and yeah since when anything on the Gt's where bolt on anyway? i've had to custom make 85% of the things on my car.

see if i tell everyone in detail on how i did it. then everyone and their neighbor will do the swap and i spent more time researching and going to wreckers and spent a year saving to do the swap, just to be different. trust me its anything but bolt on. i had to do mods to the trans the front end and mounts, then the complete rear end. and everything has to be pretty much pertfect or it will look like thoes old chevy trucks you see going down the road where the front end and the rear end seem to be almost in different lanes. the one main thing im having to mess with is the rear, ends up being a high boy. so Ground controls are going to have to be ordered eventually.

so i was supposed to get my alignment today but the shop told me after telling them over the phone what i had done, that they wouldnt work on it cause it wasnt OEM. what a bunch of crap!, so i went to another local shop and ill get it tomorrow.

^ what he said! my girlfriends brother had the same issue caue he had but a 2" body lift on his truck. just tell them its oem or have friends that will do it. i have been going to the same tire shop for 7 years. they knwo what i do to my cars and never ask questions. they like working on my car cause they know i don't cut corners and alway come to them when i need stuff done i can't do. last i checked i didn't have an alignment rack, tire buster, or lift. so anything you do with those three things they do. LOL
